Marlo is a partner and VP of EQ1 Real Estate, a highly respectable brokerage that continues to innovate and lead the real estate industry in Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay area and throughout the United States. Marlo is known for his great smile and is a military Veteran, who served in the U.S Air Force. The commitment that Marlo has to serve and protect his country has transferred over to serving his clients in real estate. He has built a business with a reputation for being honest and caring toward his clients. Marlo strives to give an Education First approach to ensure his clients are given all the information needed to understand the home selling and home buying process.
Outside of running his business Marlo is an entrepreneur, real estate investor, and avid surfer. He resides in San Jose with his beautiful wife, four amazing children, and a wonderful dog named Mochi.

The Pre-Approval Process

Contingencies

Understanding the Recent Changes in Real Estate
The NAR Settlement addresses allegations of anti-competitive behavior in real estate broker commissions, with NAR and major real estate companies agreeing to pay $418 million to settle the claims and implement changes in commission rules. Sellers may see more transparent and negotiable commission structures, potentially giving them more control over payments to listing and buyer agents, though the total fees paid by sellers may remain similar. Buyer agents may now be compensated directly by buyers, or sellers may cover their fees. These changes aim to increase transparency and marketability for sellers while requiring buyers to sign agreements detailing their agent's compensation. Practices will evolve based on market conditions.
Understanding How Agents Are Compensated
In the past, the buyer agent was in most cases paid through sharing the commission the listing agent negotiated with the seller. This is now changing due to the NAR Settlement and my commission and fee could be paid in multiple ways which I will discuss with you when we meet.
