5. Getting Through Escrow

“The easy part is winning the bid, the hard part is getting through escrow.” Things NOT to do during escrow: 1. Do not change jobs or become self-employed. 2. Do not buy a vehicle. 3. Do not “overuse” your credit card or let your payments fall behind. 4. Do not spend the money you have saved for your down payment. 5. Do not change the source of closing funds. 6. Do not originate any new inquiries on your credit report. 7. Do not change banks. 8. Do not make any large deposits into your bank account. 9. Do not buy furniture before you buy your house. 10. Do not pay off any credit cards.
