A Day of Service: Volunteer Gardening at the Sacramento Children's Receiving Home
Mission:
It's always a great feeling to give back to the community, and what better way to do that than by volunteering your time and resources? On Friday, February 18th, we participated in a day of service at the Children's Receiving Home. We volunteered our time to help with the gardening efforts at this amazing facility.
Vision:
The Children's Receiving Home is a non-profit organization that provides care and services to children who are victims of abuse, neglect, or trauma. The home was founded in 1965 and has been providing much-needed services ever since. It is on six acres of beautiful land deeded to the agency by the City of Sacramento.
Values:
The garden at the facility is used to help teach the children about gardening and agriculture, as well as provide them with a place to relax and enjoy nature. We got to clear out some of the overgrown vegetation and weeded the garden beds and walkways. Here are two of our agents, Malinda Hermansen (left and Kristi Gold (right) clearing a foot path.

Coaching the team is just as beneficial outside the office as it is inside the office! Here's our team lead Jake DaRosa (right) giving some helpful tips to one of our agents, Raja Singh (left.
